(ALERT: THE FOLLOWING MAY BE CONFUSING UNLESS YOU KNOW ABOUT 1950s & 60s BRITISH TELEVISION PROGRAMMES)
After flowerpot liberation, Bill and Ben were beachcombers, with a new friend: Little SeaWeed. 'Twas cleanliving, with all the soap ashore. (139 characters)
(Thought I'd give my British readers a trip down memory lane. "The Flowerpot Men" were big in my youth. You can read all about them and their friend, Little Weed here--if interested.)
Thanks in advance for your comments. I look forward to visiting in return over the next couple of days.
Sounds like a great program Michael. Thanks for the link, made your story just pop!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week my friend.

ReplyDeleteAh, you broaden our horizons. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's real nice, Michael.
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of The Flowerpot Men. They must have come up in one of the inky interludes between one of my several lives.
..
Oh, it's a British thing. I was just confused. Should have clicked on the link. Duh.

ReplyDeleteGreat Take My Friend...G
I enjoyed reading about the Flowerpot men, using the link you gave. The old beachcombers look abut the right age of the liberated flowerpot men in 2011. I see that Little Weed has cleaned up his act! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know anything about the flower pot men and enjoyed the reading and your take!
ReplyDeleteHi Michael,
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I remember the flower pot men and there is a remarkable likeness. Little 'sea' weed is inspired.

ReplyDeleteSo I DIDN'T dream up Flowerpot Men! That's great news...everyone I've asked around here says they can't remember them--but the song still spins in my head..."Bill and Ben, Bill and Ben...Flowerpot Men, Flowerpot Men"....
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it was a British show though--must have been on CBC...thanks for the trip down Memory Lane!
Clean living, aye? Lol! How funny. :)
