(For non-U.S. readers, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when consumer society goes into overdrive and we are exhorted to hit the mall and "Spend, spend, spend," therefore putting the merchants in "the black" for the year.)
Have a happy writing week, and thanks so much for all your comments.
Oh, just the laugh I needed this afternoon, Michael! What a great take on the pic of the day! Have a wonderful week!

oh that was quite clever
ReplyDeleteI didn't see a thing in that image...overworked and underpaid I guess leads to fried brain
And to me, that's EXACTLY what a Black Friday crowd looks like...a bad cattle call. :)
ReplyDeleteNicely played.
How seasonably appropriate! I laughed--good one!
ReplyDeleteLOL ... well done.
ReplyDeleteHmmm ... guess I can't use that phrase now! lol
I've wondered how that phrase came about. I guess the Canadian shopping equivalent would be Boxing Day, which is the day after Christmas, when lunatics like my husband start lining up at 6am to get the bargains, especially on things like electronics.

Michael;
ReplyDeleteI with Hope on this one. A wonderful example of black Friday crowds.
What a great laugh form you my friend!
Loved it! And how nice of you to explain "Black Friday" to those who haven't heard of it. (I really think someone could come up with a better name for it!...like Profit Friday?
ReplyDeleteLove the fun irony and twist! Thanks for the Black Friday explanation or I wouldn't have known the full impact!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the explanation of Black Friday, Michael. I had always assumed it was a day when you played back to back re-runs of the Colour Purple and Paul Robeson movies on TV in remembrance of your cotton picking traditions of the south.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I boycotted Black Friday . . . but if I'd known it was a costume event, I might have reconsidered! Love dressing up!
ReplyDeleteI thought about a "load of bull" line but abandoned it when inspiration failed to strike. Well done for finding a good one!
ReplyDeleteCute one! I survived Black Friday.... no bull. :O)
ReplyDeleteAn ocean of meaning in a few word.
ReplyDelete"There, there, we can find a job for them!"
ReplyDeletegood one!
You managed to combine the insanity of Black Friday with the picture-outstanding!
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up. I don't fertilize the economy on Black Friday. Folks like these are why. There is nothing out there worth getting stampeded for.
ReplyDeleteNicely done Michael, You've captured the essence of the picture with Black Friday. I never would have thought of using Black Friday.
ReplyDeleteNice one. But he needs to bundle up for the Black Friday event if he didn't want to freeze out.
ReplyDeleteIt's the original Black Friday! Great post.
