Welcome to Microfiction Monday, at Stony River: a writing life, where a picture paints 140 characters, or even fewer.[Hate counting letters and spaces? Try Design 215's character counter, which will count for you as you type. Microsoft Word will count for you too, of course, as part of its word count feature under the 'Review' tab.] Here's this week's picture, and my story to go with it.
The wishing star was so literal. Pam had wished for a LUCKY flutter on the ponies. But flying on Pegasus? (The lucky part was the prince.) (138 characters)
(N.B. In Brit. English, "having a flutter" means "betting on".)
Love it as always, Michael! We'll see if she still feels it was "lucky" a little further down the road! Or sky! Hope you've had a good weekend! Enjoy your week!

You've gotta be careful what you wish for, Pam! But her wish-coming-true indeed had the positive of the prince. I like your take on this week's picture!
ReplyDeleteNice to have a dream really come true! Here's my MM
ReplyDeleteGreat fun. Quite the wish.
ReplyDeleteMost excellent! And I was captivated by your banned books photos. Our library put on an exhibit of books that have been banned at various points in time. Last week a guy in the library was querying the staff at the circ desk, "if those books are banned why do you have them available for people to check out?" Sigh...
ReplyDeleteWishing and dreams coming true. Always makes you feel like a kid again.
ReplyDeleteVery good like usual.
Glad she got her wish, and more than she wanted.
ReplyDeleteOh I could use some 'lucky' like that! I loved this.
ReplyDeleteYep..... that's just her luck it seems. :O)
ReplyDeleteIn American English we would say Pam "hit the jackpot!"
ReplyDeleteVery good, I like it! :o)
ReplyDeleteMy friend, the late Dr. John, used to warn that wishes were very dangerous things. One must be very specific or one never knows what might come of them. I say Pam was indeed lucky! She could have ended up a butterfly in a horse stall!
ReplyDeleteSo romantic! Loved it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week x
Nice one! I like it. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy Microfiction Monday
That's SOME pony!
ReplyDeleteBut she won her Prince. Awwww!
Sweet story with a lovely ending. :)
ReplyDeleteThe prince was a nice throw in :) Very nice.
ReplyDeleteSo THAT's where be careful what you wish for started. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this one!
I like the bonus!
